Launch of Dedicated Semiconductor Team and Full-Scale Operation of Semiconductor Attraction Task Force
On January 16, Suncheon City announced the official launch of its newly established Semiconductor Team and the Semiconductor Attraction Task Force (consisting of three teams and 15 members), dedicated to systematically and strategically attracting the 'RE100 Semiconductor National Industrial Complex.'

In order to accelerate efforts to attract the 'RE100 Semiconductor National Industrial Complex,' which aims to drive an industrial transformation in the eastern region of Jeollanam-do-currently facing challenges in the chemical and steel sectors-and to create synergy through the Gwangju-Jeonnam integration, the city has swiftly established a dedicated semiconductor team comprised of one team and three members.
The newly established team will oversee all work related to attracting the semiconductor national industrial complex, facilitate cooperation between Jeollanam-do Province and local governments in the eastern region, build networks with relevant organizations and experts, foster consensus for the project, and take the lead on key tasks such as submitting proposals to the central government.
Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu stated, "Attracting the RE100 Semiconductor National Industrial Complex is a new leap forward that will open up the future of the eastern region of Jeollanam-do," and called on all departments to thoroughly inspect and prepare all requirements related to semiconductors, including energy, water supply, and residential conditions.
