The large-scale fire that broke out at Guryong Village in Gaepo-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, at around 5:00 a.m. on January 16 was brought under control after approximately six hours and thirty minutes.
According to the National Fire Agency, the initial suppression of the Guryong Village fire was completed at 11:34 a.m. that day. The fire response level was also downgraded from Level 2 to Level 1.
Earlier, as the fire intensified, the fire authorities had raised the response level to Level 2 at around 8:49 a.m. that day.
So far, there have been no reported casualties from the fire.
