Coway announced on January 16 that it has launched "Terasol U," a urinary incontinence treatment medical device, as the first lineup of its home medical device brand "Terasol."
The name "Terasol" is a combination of "Therapy," meaning treatment, and "Solution." It reflects the company's aim to provide the optimal solution for a healthy life through medical devices that can be easily used at home.
The first product, Terasol U, was developed to allow middle-aged and older adults to conveniently manage urinary incontinence at home. It has been approved by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety as a medical device that combines a "non-implantable urinary incontinence neuromuscular electrical stimulator" for treating urinary incontinence and a "personal heating device" for relieving muscle pain, thereby proving both its safety and efficacy.
When used, Terasol U delivers repeated low-frequency stimulation to contract and relax the pelvic floor and surrounding muscles, helping to treat urinary incontinence. Users can experience the effects of Kegel exercises simply by sitting for 15 minutes a day, making it easy to incorporate into daily routines without burden.
The new product features six stimulation points and a three-pair channel structure, providing rich and balanced low-frequency stimulation to the perineal and gluteal areas. It offers three levels of therapy modes-beginner, intermediate, and advanced-allowing users to gradually strengthen their muscles according to their condition. The stimulation intensity can be precisely adjusted across 99 levels, from level 1 to level 99.
The device also offers various functions, such as a heating mode to help relieve muscle pain and a hip stimulation mode that delivers focused stimulation to the gluteal area, enabling versatile use according to individual needs. The heating function promotes blood circulation, relaxes tense muscles, and is effective in alleviating muscle pain. It can be set to a maximum of 39°C, and features an auto-heating function that preheats automatically when powered on.
The design has also been meticulously crafted. A hidden handle on the back makes it easy to move and use, while the body-fit design, tailored to the human body’s curves, provides a stable and snug seating experience. A dedicated "hidden & slim" stand is included, making it convenient to charge and store the device after use.
