On January 16, Hwasun County in South Jeolla Province announced that the Hwasun Dolmen Autumn Flower Festival has achieved consecutive milestones, winning the Korea Content Awards for three consecutive years and being selected as the 2026 Jeollanam-do Representative Festival.
The Hwasun Dolmen Autumn Flower Festival was launched to widely promote the historical and cultural value of the dolmen sites, which are designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. By combining autumn flower-themed landscapes with cultural content, the festival aims to revitalize local tourism and foster a sustainable cultural tourism festival.
Hosted and organized by Hwasun County, the festival is held every autumn at the Hwasun dolmen site. It operates as a participatory festival for people of all ages, offering a variety of programs such as exhibitions, hands-on experiences, and performances themed around dolmens and autumn flowers.
The festival’s consecutive wins at the Korea Content Awards and its selection as the Jeollanam-do Representative Festival are a testament to the excellence of its content and operational achievements. These recognitions are expected to serve as a springboard for the Hwasun Dolmen Festival to become Hwasun’s signature cultural tourism brand and a nationally renowned festival.
Jo Hyeong-chae, Director of Tourism and Sports, stated, "This achievement is thanks to the efforts of both the residents and visitors who have contributed to the festival," adding, "We will continue to develop the festival into a leading cultural tourism event representing Korea, with unique content that highlights Hwasun’s history, nature, and culture."
