Uijeongbu City Strengthens Healthcare Collaboration for Integrated Medical and Care Support Uijeongbu City (Mayor Kim Donggeun) held a meeting on the 14th for the integrated medical and care support project in the health and medical field, attended by nine people including the city's dedicated department and health center officials. This meeting was organized to establish a cooperative healthcare system for the smooth implementation of the main “Integrated Medical and Care Support Project,” which is scheduled to be launched in April, and to discuss efficient methods for identifying eligible recipients and linking services.

To advance the integrated medical and care support project, the city established a dedicated Integrated Care Team within the Welfare Policy Division in July 2025 and is actively promoting the pilot project. The core of the integrated medical and care support project is to provide comprehensive connections between healthcare, long-term care, daily living support, and housing support, so that residents such as the elderly and people with disabilities who have difficulties in daily life can continue to live healthily and stably in their own homes.

During the meeting, participants shared the 2026 project implementation schedule for the integrated medical and care support initiative, introduced Uijeongbu’s specialized integrated care projects, discussed the role of the public health center’s integrated information desk, and explored ways to identify eligible recipients for integrated care. Attendees agreed on the necessity of close interdepartmental collaboration.

An official from Uijeongbu City stated, “Before the official launch of the project, the lead department and the public health center will work closely together to support residents experiencing difficulties in daily life so they can maintain healthy lives in their own homes. We will continue to strengthen our cooperative network with related organizations to realize integrated care services that citizens can truly experience.”

Meanwhile, on January 27, the city plans to hold a meeting with the Northern Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters of Korea Land and Housing Corporation regarding the installation of “Care Safety Housing,” actively working to strengthen the foundation for housing support for patients discharged from hospitals.
