Baba Fashion Advances Fashion Logistics with AI Autonomous Robots... Achieves Fourfold Operational Efficiency

Joint Development and Implementation of Big Data-Based "AAGV" Robot
Industry's First On-Site Application
Up to 3,500 Units Processed Per Hour Achieves About Four Times the Efficiency of Manual Logistics

Baba Fashion Advances Fashion Logistics with AI Autonomous Robots... Achieves Fourfold Operational Efficiency At the Baba Fashion Logistics Center in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, Baba Fashion's big data-based AI autonomous logistics robot, the AAGV (Autonomous AI Guided Vehicle), which was the first to be introduced in the fashion logistics industry, is seen automatically transporting and sorting products toward designated destinations.

Baba Fashion, led by Chairman Moon Inshik, announced that it has increased the efficiency of its fashion logistics operations by approximately four times compared to previous levels by introducing a big data-based AI autonomous logistics robot. Baba Fashion is the first company in the fashion logistics industry to implement an AI-powered robot, the AAGV (Autonomous AI Guided Vehicle), at its site, aiming to standardize logistics processes and achieve a "Loss 0%" environment.

Baba Fashion applied the AAGV robot, which combines a big data-based AI autonomous decision-making function with the existing AGV system, at its logistics center in Yeoju, Gyeonggi Province, through joint development with the manufacturer KODEC Electronics. When a worker scans a product barcode, the AAGV robot automatically verifies the order information, then travels along the robot deck to transport and sort products to designated destinations. All processes, including charging, transportation, sorting, and return, are operated automatically through data linkage between robots.

The AAGV robot can process up to 3,500 pieces per hour. This represents about 400% greater efficiency compared to conventional manual operations, enabling the stable management of shipments to 437 stores with minimal staff. Another key feature is that it can be deployed immediately regardless of worker proficiency, significantly reducing dependence on human labor.

Due to the nature of fashion logistics, which involves a large number of SKUs by item, color, and size, automation and standardization have traditionally been considered highly challenging. Baba Fashion has established an automatic classification system based on customer order information through the AAGV robot, eliminating the need for workers to intervene directly in product distribution. As a result, the company has structurally reduced logistics errors such as duplicate picking, mispicking, and out-of-stock incidents, and has actually achieved "Loss 0%" performance since implementation.

This transformation has also led to shorter outbound lead times. Beyond simply introducing new equipment, Baba Fashion has collaborated with manufacturers to jointly plan and develop technologies tailored to real needs at the logistics center, setting new standards in fashion logistics. The "Automated Hanger Distribution System," developed in partnership with Systec Logistics, can process 400 hanger items per hour, standardizing the complex process of sorting hanger products and improving both accuracy and processing efficiency. In addition, through collaboration with Handok Storage System, the company has built an industry-first system that automates the entire process from box folding to delivery line in the fashion sector.

Currently, the Baba Fashion Logistics Center operates with a large-scale smart logistics facility-based automation system. Including its own brands such as The Izzat Baba, Jigott, and The Izzat, as well as the online platform "Baba The.com," which features 1,500 brands, the center processes an average of about 20,000 products per day.

A Baba Fashion representative stated, "In the fashion industry, where products are subdivided by design, color, and size, AI logistics is not just about increasing speed, but about designing optimized standard processes for the field. With this system implementation, we aim to set the standard for fashion logistics operations and continuously build a Loss 0% environment."
