Applications Open from March 3

The grant is available to approximately 16,000 new students who have their registered address in Siheung as of the admission date (March 3). Foreign nationals are also eligible for the support.

The admission preparation grant will be provided in the form of Siheung's local digital currency, the mobile 'Siru'.

Applications can be submitted online via the 'Government24' platform from March 3 to October 30. However, if the guardian is not the student's father or mother, or if the applicant is a foreign national, the required documents must be brought to the local administrative welfare center corresponding to the student's address for in-person application. The city will review eligibility and plans to provide the grant within two months of the application date.

The grant can be used at Siru-affiliated stores that sell admission-related items such as stationery shops, bookstores, clothing (including gym uniforms), and private academies. Usage is restricted at certain businesses, including hospitals, pharmacies, restaurants, and leisure facilities. The grant must be used by November 30.

For more information, please refer to the Education/Sports section of the Siheung City Hall website or contact the Education Autonomy Division at Siheung City Hall.

Siheung Mayor Lim Byeongtaek stated, "We have launched the admission preparation grant program to reduce the financial burden on households with new students," adding, "By providing the grant through local currency, we also expect to boost sales for small businesses and revitalize the local economy."
