Chairman Lee Eokwon to Meet Major Bank CEOs on the 26th

Lee Eokwon, Chairman of the Financial Services Commission, will hold a dinner meeting with the heads of major banks to discuss key issues facing the banking sector.

According to the financial industry on January 15, the first regular board meeting of the Korea Federation of Banks for this year will be held on January 26. The board will include 11 member institutions as non-executive directors: the five major banks (KB Kookmin, Shinhan, Hana, Woori, NH Nonghyup), two specialized banks (Korea Development Bank and Industrial Bank of Korea), one regional bank, and one internet-only bank.

Chairman Lee will attend the dinner that follows the board meeting. The Federation's board has occasionally invited figures from the financial sector, such as the Governor of the Bank of Korea, but this will be the first time in four years that the Chairman of the Financial Services Commission is attending. At this event, Chairman Lee is expected to discuss major issues facing the banking sector and seek cooperation on related policies, including productive financial investment.
