OrderToHome Sales Surge 97% During Holiday Season
Direct Delivery from Source Timed for Lunar New Year Orders
Emart announced on January 15 that it will launch the "OrderToHome" Lunar New Year gift sets, which are delivered directly from the source to customers' homes when ordered, ahead of the holiday. This is the second time the company has offered such gift sets for a holiday, following last year's Chuseok.
This year, Emart has doubled the number of "OrderToHome" Lunar New Year gift sets to 48 types compared to last Chuseok, and will offer them at special prices with discounts of up to 30% until February 20. OrderToHome is a direct-from-source delivery service based on the Emart app, launched in April last year. By delivering products directly from the source upon order, the service enhances freshness, and the products are personally verified and selected by Emart buyers, increasing trust in quality. OrderToHome gift sets can be ordered through the Emart app.
Since its launch, the service has maintained rapid monthly growth of over 48%, with housewives in their 40s and 50s-who are especially sensitive to freshness-accounting for half of total sales and driving the growth of OrderToHome. Notably, during last year's Chuseok, when the gift sets were first introduced for the holiday, sales increased by more than 97% compared to an average month.
Representative products for this year's Lunar New Year gift sets include the "Misonghwa Mushroom Set (1kg)" from Choi Youngchang's farm in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province, which was selected as one of the Top 100 Young Farmers; the "Native Korean Beef Set No. 1 (1kg)" sourced from Gimhae, South Gyeongsang Province; and the "Korean Beef Gold Basket Set (1kg)" directly delivered from Eumseong, North Chungcheong Province, and elegantly packaged in a gold basket.
Other offerings include the "Wild Ginseng Set (5 roots)" made with 7-year-old wild ginseng, the "Healthy Mushroom Set with Deodeok," which features deodeok, reishi mushrooms, and sanghwang mushrooms, and the "Emperor Abalone Set (1.8kg)" delivered directly from Wando, South Jeolla Province.
In addition to OrderToHome, about 40 types of direct-from-source gift sets are also available at Emart stores. These include the "Pocheon Idong Galbi Mixed Set (2kg)," the "Gimhae Livestock Cooperative 1++ Mixed Set (1.8kg)," and the "Seogwipo Fisheries Cooperative Tilefish and Hairtail Set (1.3kg)," among various other products. Vegetable buyer Byun Jae-min said, "The direct-from-source delivery service through OrderToHome continues to expand, thanks to the ultimate freshness achieved by shipping right after harvest and the added trust in quality guaranteed by Emart buyers. Inspired by the popularity of fresh gift sets such as mushrooms and ginseng during last year's Chuseok, we have significantly expanded differentiated direct-from-source gift sets for this Lunar New Year, including Korean beef, mushrooms, wild ginseng, and abalone."
