The Northern Gyeonggi Province 119 Special Response Team is conducting rescue equipment training using advanced underwater drones to ensure swift and safe rescue operations at water accident sites. Provided by the Northern Gyeonggi Province Fire and Disaster Headquarters.
This training was held on January 15 at the Poplaza Underwater Filming Studio located in Pocheon City.
The training program included an overview of the main specifications and functions of the underwater drone, hands-on practice with equipment deployment and operation in simulated water accident scenarios, and underwater search demonstrations. The focus was on improving the team members' equipment operation skills and ensuring the safety of rescue personnel.
The underwater drone used in the training is a lightweight device made with an aluminum alloy body, measuring 608mm × 294mm × 196mm and weighing less than 6kg. It can be operated for up to four hours, reaches a maximum depth of 200 meters, and has an operational radius of 400 meters, making it a state-of-the-art device capable of rapidly gathering underwater information at water accident sites.
Team leader Kwon Sunwook stated, "Through repeated training using advanced underwater drones, we will further strengthen our ability to respond to water accidents and continue to strive for safer and more efficient rescue operations."
