Cinecube announced on January 15 that director Stephane Brize's film "The Second Season" will be released on January 28.

The film tells the story of a man and a woman who reunite 15 years after their breakup. It realistically portrays the psychological changes experienced by successful actor Mathieu (Guillaume Canet) and piano teacher Alice (Alba Rohrwacher) as they meet again by chance. The work stands out for director Stephane Brize's signature restrained direction and delicate screenplay.

"The Second Season" was invited to the competition section of the Venice International Film Festival. The foreign media outlet Herald Sun highlighted the film's tension, stating, "A single word exchanged between reunited lovers makes your heart race," and cited the intimate conversations between the two leads as the film's highlight. The movie breaks away from the conventions of a typical melodrama, delving deeply into philosophical themes such as the nature of love and the emptiness of life.

Park Jiye, head of the Tcast Cinecube team, said, "'The Second Season' is a film that precisely depicts emotions that begin only after a breakup," adding, "It will leave a lingering impression that prompts viewers to reflect on the meaning of life beyond love."

The film is Cinecube's first imported and distributed release of the year, operated by Taekwang Group's Tcast. Despite the nationwide decline of art house cinemas, Cinecube has maintained its presence for over 25 years. The unwavering commitment of former Taekwang Group chairman Lee Hojin to fostering art films has been the driving force behind its long-term operation.

Cinecube has established itself as a cultural hub in the city, continuously introducing valuable works and satisfying the cultural thirst of citizens.
