Entrepreneur Who Pioneered Food Distribution in the Middle East
Donates Development Fund to University, Pursues Mutual Growth

Shilla University (President Heo Namsik) announced on January 15 that Kwon Jungcheon, Chairman of Heechang Corporation, has donated 100 million won to support the university's development.

On the same day, a donation ceremony for the development fund was held in the President's reception room on the 6th floor of the university headquarters, attended by President Heo Namsik, Chairman Kwon Jungcheon, and other university and corporate officials.

Chairman Kwon has established a stable food supply chain centered on Korean construction sites, Korean communities, and local markets in the Middle East, laying the foundation for Korean food exports. Through contract production and direct trading systems with producers and fisheries cooperatives nationwide, he has contributed not only to expanding exports of Korean agricultural and marine products, but also to domestic price stabilization and increased income for farmers and fishers.

Alongside his business activities, he has consistently contributed to the local community. His philanthropic efforts include supporting the Busan Asian Games, annual fundraising for neighbors in need, the "Sharing Briquettes of Love" campaign, providing food to local welfare facilities, and other initiatives for the socially disadvantaged and marginalized. He has also participated in various scholarship programs.

Chairman Kwon, who is also a graduate of the 8th class of Shilla University's Advanced Management Program, stated, "I donated the development fund with the hope that students will receive education in a better environment and grow into key members of the local community."

Heo Namsik, President of Shilla University, said, "The generosity of business leaders who have grown together with the local community is becoming an important link between the university and the region. This development fund will be used meaningfully to fulfill the university's mission of nurturing practical talent and achieving mutual growth with the community."
