Open Market and Direct Sales of Local Agricultural Products
Support Provided for Marketing and Operations
Gijang County has begun recruiting local farms to participate in the "Gijang County Farmers Market," which allows local farmers to promote and sell agricultural products they have produced themselves.
The county is seeking farms to join the "Gijang County Farmers Market," an open market where local agricultural products produced by area farmers are sold directly.
The "Gijang County Farmers Market" is a project that has been operated since 2024 to promote and increase consumption of local agricultural products. This year as well, the county plans to hold the open market three times on weekends, aiming to expand sales channels for agricultural goods produced in the area.
Eligible applicants include farmers residing in Gijang County, as well as those operating food processing businesses or rural experience programs utilizing agricultural and rural resources. Applications will be accepted from January 19 to February 27, and the application form can be downloaded from the Gijang County Agricultural Technology Center website, completed, and submitted.
Selected farms will receive training on marketing and customer service, and will be provided free of charge with promotional materials, sales locations, sales booths, eco-friendly shopping bags, display containers for sales, and other items necessary for operating the open market.
An official from Gijang County stated, "The Gijang County Farmers Market is an event designed to directly introduce high-quality local agricultural products to consumers and to promote the consumption of local food," adding, "We hope for active interest and participation from local farms."
