Governor Kim Youngrok Requests Democratic Party's Support for Swift Enactment of Special Administrative Integration Act Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, held a meeting with Han Byungdo, Floor Leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, at the National Assembly in Seoul on the 15th to request the passage of the draft bill for the enactment of the Special Act for the Establishment of the (tentative name) Gwangju-Jeonnam Special City during the February National Assembly session. Kim Youngrok, Governor of Jeollanam-do, met with Han Byungdo, Floor Leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, at the National Assembly on the 15th, where he explained the key points of the draft bill for the enactment of the (tentative name) Special Act for the Establishment of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Special City and requested its swift passage through the National Assembly, receiving a pledge of support.


During the meeting, Governor Kim outlined the contents of the special bill, which includes institutional measures that local residents can directly benefit from, such as fostering core growth engines in the region-including the energy industry and advanced strategic industries-special provisions for rural and fishing villages, and support for youth and small business owners. He also requested cooperation for the prompt enactment of the law.


In response, Floor Leader Han Byungdo expressed his agreement with the push for administrative integration between Gwangju and Jeonnam, and stated that the party would actively support the passage of the special bill during the February session of the National Assembly.
