At around 7:10 a.m. on January 15, a 25-ton trailer traveling near the Hamyang Junction on the Tongyeong-Daejeon Expressway toward Daejeon in Hamyang County, Gyeongnam, crashed into the right-side guardrail.
The trailer, which was carrying automobile parts, hit the central divider again due to the impact of the accident and came to a stop, soon becoming engulfed in flames.
The trailer was completely destroyed by fire, and the driver, a man in his 50s identified as Mr. A, managed to escape on his own and sustained minor injuries.
As the accident was being handled and the vehicle was being towed, traffic congestion occurred for about 3 kilometers behind the accident site.
The police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
