Damyang-eup in Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do has officially launched the 2026 Senior Job Program to support vibrant and safe lives for the elderly.
Damyang-eup announced on the 15th that it held the '2026 Senior Job Launch Ceremony and Safety Education' at the town office on the 13th, with 85 elderly participants in the senior public service activity project in attendance.
This event was organized to raise safety awareness among seniors before they participate in social activities and to foster a healthy work environment. During the launch ceremony, the operational direction for this year's program was shared, and participants reaffirmed their commitment to safe activities.
In particular, field-oriented safety education was provided on topics such as cold wave response tips for winter, prevention of traffic accidents during commutes, and examples of accidents that may occur during work. This practical training received a positive response from participants. The focus was on helping seniors identify and address potential risks in their daily lives in advance.
Kim Jonghwa, head of Damyang-eup, emphasized, "For seniors, a job is the best form of welfare, but above all, health and safety are most important. We will spare no effort in providing on-site guidance and support to ensure that all participants can work safely without injury."
