Yeosu City in South Jeolla Province is accelerating tourism promotion by providing incentives to travel agencies that attract group tourists within the city.
According to the city, 300 million won will be allocated this year to attract both domestic and international overnight tourists, air travel groups, and school excursion groups. Travel agencies that meet the requirements, such as using local accommodation, restaurants, and paid tourist attractions, will receive incentives of up to 26,000 won per person.

The detailed support conditions require travel agencies to attract at least 15 domestic tourists, 5 international or air travel tourists, or 20 students in a school excursion group. The incentive amount varies depending on the number of overnight stays, whether the visit occurs during peak or off-peak seasons, and whether it takes place on weekdays or weekends.
To receive the incentive, agencies must consult with Yeosu City in advance, submit a plan at least three days before the visit, and apply for payment within 15 days after the trip. The incentive will then be provided the following month.
A city official stated, "We hope that many tourists will visit Yeosu through the group tourist support program," adding, "We will do our best to develop diverse content and expand tourism infrastructure to establish Yeosu as a marine tourism and leisure city that people want to revisit."
Meanwhile, last year, incentives were provided for 836 cases, and a total of 32,703 group tourists visited Yeosu.
