This project aimed to enhance the urban landscape and revitalize the local commercial district by creating and installing unique and aesthetically pleasing signboards that reflect the character of the area.

The city invested a total of approximately 880 million won from its own budget to replace 456 signboards at 170 stores in the Sicheong-ro and Gwangil-ro area. The project site covered 687 meters along Sicheong-ro, from No. 93 to No. 152, and 427 meters along Gwangil-ro, from No. 6 to 32-1 Ori-ro 976beon-gil. By refurbishing the old and disorderly signboards in this area, the city created a pleasant and unified street environment.

Prior to this, starting in 2024, the city gradually carried out the project by conducting design and implementation planning services, holding resident briefings, and gathering on-site feedback. During the process, the city focused on incorporating the opinions of small business owners and local residents to create signboard designs that harmonize with the atmosphere of the street.

Park Seungwon, Mayor of Gwangmyeong City, stated, "We will continue to support efforts to ensure that the streets of our city become pleasant spaces that reflect the identity of the region and the voices of our citizens."
