Inspired by Sweet Potato Fries
On January 15, Nongshim announced that it will launch its new snack product, "Basakchuri Gotoo," inspired by the popular side dish "sweet potato fries," on January 22.
Nongshim Basakchuri Gotoo is designed to allow anyone to easily enjoy sweet potato fries, which are typically found at gourmet burger restaurants, in a convenient snack form. While sweet potato fries have a devoted fan base thanks to their deep and sweet flavor, they are difficult to prepare and not easily found on the market. The product name "Gotoo" is an abbreviation for "sweet potato fry-shaped snack."
The most notable feature of this new product is its rich sweet potato flavor combined with a "crispy pastry" texture, just as the name suggests. Nongshim used an extrusion cutting technique to create a texture that is both crispy and tender, and captured the natural sweetness of sweet potato that spreads throughout the mouth. The stick-shaped fries make it even easier to enjoy.
A Nongshim representative stated, "Basakchuri Gotoo delivers a sophisticated sweet potato flavor and a crispy texture," adding, "We aim to offer a unique gourmet experience for consumers seeking trendy desserts."
