Building on the positive consumer response since their launch last year, the company has expanded its distribution channels to the airport, officially targeting international travelers with its merchandise sales.

The products now available are the "Engineer Boogi Mini Doll Keyring" and the "Subway Mini Cube Keyring." These items feature Busan’s representative character "Boogi" and the subway train symbolizing the Busan Metro as design elements. With their cute appearance and practicality, they have consistently received positive feedback from both Busan residents and tourists since their release.

The sales method follows a buyout structure, where the duty-free shop operator purchases the products in advance and is responsible for sales and inventory management. This allows the corporation to reduce inventory pressure and sales risk, while securing stable revenue and enabling a stronger focus on merchandise planning and brand management.

Busan Transportation Corporation has gradually expanded its distribution channels, including stores inside Busan Station and Seoul Station, pop-up stores at Lotte Department Store Seomyeon branch, and unmanned vending machines within metro stations. The company explained that repeated purchases by citizens who use the metro daily and tourists visiting Busan, as well as online buzz, have led to this latest entry into the Gimhae International Airport duty-free shop.

Gimhae International Airport is a hub for foreign tourists and outbound travelers, resulting in high foot traffic and significant brand exposure. Since the products being sold have already proven popular in the market, the corporation expects this permanent sales arrangement to help convert existing brand awareness into stable revenue.

Lee Byungjin, President of Busan Transportation Corporation, stated, "Last year's merchandise sales confirmed the interest of both citizens and tourists," adding, "With this entry into the airport duty-free shop, we are now fully expanding our merchandise distribution channels." He continued, "We will analyze consumer responses and sales performance to further refine our product lineup and distribution methods, and will gradually expand content businesses utilizing the metro brand."
