Tomorrow, the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions are expected to be mostly cloudy, with intermittent rain forecasted from early dawn to the morning. While temperatures will be higher than average, strong winds are expected, especially along the coast.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on January 14, less than 5mm of rain is expected across Gwangju and the entire Jeonnam region on the morning of January 15.
The morning low will range from 2 to 10 degrees Celsius, and the daytime high will range from 11 to 17 degrees Celsius, which is more than 10 degrees higher than the seasonal average (morning low of minus 6 to 0 degrees, daytime high of 4 to 7 degrees).
However, weather conditions at sea and along the coast are somewhat unstable. Strong winds with instantaneous speeds exceeding 15 meters per second are expected along the Jeonnam coast, and preliminary strong wind advisories have been issued for Geomundo and Chodo. Preliminary high seas warnings have also been issued for the southern part of the South Yellow Sea and the southwestern part of the South Sea, with waves expected to be very high.
An official from the Meteorological Administration advised, "Although skies will gradually clear from tomorrow afternoon after the rain stops, please pay close attention to facility management and the safety of vessel operations due to strong winds and worsening maritime weather conditions."
