Police Arrest Man in His 50s for Attacking Insurance Company Security Guard with Weapon

A man in his 50s was apprehended by police after attempting to murder a security guard with a weapon at an insurance company in Jongno-gu, Seoul.

The Seoul Jongno Police Station announced that at approximately 2:30 p.m. on January 14, they arrested Mr. A at the scene on charges of attempted murder.

The security guard was transported to the hospital and remains conscious.

According to reports, Mr. A suddenly brandished a weapon during a consultation regarding the cancellation of an insurance policy.

A police official stated, "We are currently interviewing witnesses and reviewing CCTV footage," adding, "The case has been designated as a major incident and will be investigated swiftly."
