This winter break, the college admission guidance competency enhancement program consists of mock document evaluations conducted directly by university admissions officers, admission information sessions, and college admission seminars and forums reflecting the results of the 2026 academic year early admission process. The aim is to deepen understanding of the changing college admissions landscape and to provide practical support for admission guidance in schools.
According to the detailed schedule, the program begins on the 14th with a mock document evaluation and information session in partnership with Seoul National University of Science and Technology. On the 16th, a training session on student record-based holistic admissions guidance, based on actual evaluation cases, will be held in collaboration with Korea University.
From the 22nd to the 23rd, a large number of teachers from Gangwon Province will participate in a college admission seminar featuring six major universities in the Seoul metropolitan area: Korea University, Sogang University, Sungkyunkwan University, Ewha Womans University, Hanyang University, and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
Notably, on the 27th, a '2028 Academic Year College Admission Information Session for Teachers' hosted by Seoul National University will take place, followed by a college admission seminar at Sungkyunkwan University on the 28th. Through these events, the latest changes in the college admission system and the direction of admissions operations will be identified and promptly shared with schools in the province.
The Gangwon Admission Support Center expects that, through this winter break program, teachers will gain direct insight into college admissions operations and evaluation criteria, and apply this knowledge to their admission guidance in schools. This is anticipated to make customized college admission counseling and guidance for students more substantial and effective.
Kim Seongrae, Director of Secondary Education, stated, "In a rapidly changing college admission environment, teachers' expertise in admission guidance is more important than ever," adding, "We will continue to strengthen field-oriented college admission support through ongoing cooperation with universities."
