A controversy has erupted after President Donald Trump of the United States was caught making an obscene gesture by raising his middle finger in response to jeers during a visit to an automobile factory. The White House confirmed that the incident did indeed occur and defended the president's response.

According to a video that spread across social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) on January 14, President Trump visited Ford's F-150 pickup truck manufacturing plant in Dearborn, Michigan, on January 13 (local time). While touring the facility, President Trump was heckled by an individual believed to be a worker, who called him a "protector of pedophiles."

The footage shows President Trump turning toward the direction of the noise, pointing, clenching his fist, and then extending his middle finger in an obscene gesture. He also appears to mouth the words "fxxx you" twice.

The jeers directed at President Trump are interpreted as expressions of dissatisfaction with how the Trump administration handled the case of the late Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender involving minors.

The White House confirmed to the Washington Post that the incident took place at the Ford plant. White House Communications Director Steven Cheung stated, "A deranged individual consumed by anger was hurling insults, and the president responded in an appropriate and unequivocal manner."

Meanwhile, Bill Ford, Chairman and grandson of Ford founder Henry Ford, and Chief Executive Officer Jim Farley accompanied President Trump during the visit to the plant.
