KT Expands Customer Appreciation Program Eligibility to End of Month for New Sign-Ups

Eligibility Date Extended from January 13 to January 31
Additional Data, OTT Subscriptions, and Membership Discounts Offered

KT announced on January 14 that it will extend the eligibility date for its 'Customer Appreciation Program,' introduced as a follow-up measure to a hacking incident, from the original January 13 to January 31.

As a result, customers using KT's wireless services as of January 31 will be eligible for the Customer Appreciation Program starting in February. The program will also be available to new customers who sign up with KT by January 31.

KT's Customer Appreciation Program will offer a total of five benefits. Specifically, these include: automatic provision of 100GB of data per month to all customers for six months starting February 1; a six-month subscription to either the OTT service Tving or Disney Plus starting in February; popular membership partner brand benefits such as free coffee for six months starting in February; two years of free cyber financial crime compensation insurance (Safety & Security Insurance); and, from March to August, an additional 50% of basic data for customers using roaming services.

Kwon Heegeun, Senior Vice President and Head of Marketing Innovation at KT, stated, "We changed the eligibility date to just before the program launch in order to express our gratitude to every customer who has trusted and chosen KT."

Lee Hyunseok, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Division at KT, said, "We sincerely apologize once again for the concerns caused by the small payment and security incidents," adding, "We will focus on strengthening our information security system and strive to provide safer telecommunications services in the future."
