SKT AI Integrated into Renault's New Car... Launch of In-Vehicle Agent "A.Dot Auto"

AI recognizes driving patterns and situations to deliver personalized services

SK Telecom announced on January 14 that it has applied its next-generation in-vehicle artificial intelligence (AI) agent, "A.Dot Auto," to Renault Korea's new car, the Philante.

A.Dot Auto is an intelligent AI agent that goes beyond simply executing commands, comprehensively recognizing the driver's driving patterns and road situations. Integrated into the vehicle's infotainment system (IVI), it allows drivers to easily utilize AI while driving.

In addition to infotainment services such as phone calls, news updates, Tmap (navigation), and FLO (music), A.Dot Auto enables voice control of key functions, including the climate control system that manages the vehicle's interior temperature and air quality, as well as opening and closing windows. By applying A.DotX 4.0, a large language model (LLM) specialized for Korean, users can control a variety of functions and converse with the AI through voice commands.

For example, when a driver gets into the car for their morning commute, A.Dot Auto analyzes previous driving patterns and proactively suggests the office as the destination. If the windows are open when the fine dust level is high, it suggests closing them, providing customized services tailored to each situation. It is also linked to the A.Dot mobile app, so if there are schedules saved in the app, it can suggest destinations based on those events.

SKT plans to expand the application of A.Dot Auto to other car brands in the future, starting with its introduction in Renault Korea's Philante. In particular, A.Dot Auto will be offered in various options, such as an on-device solution, tailored to the requirements of each brand.
