The World Women’s Car of the Year is judged by a panel of 84 female automotive journalists from 54 countries across five continents, who evaluate vehicles based on safety, quality, design, and performance. This year, 55 vehicles launched in at least two continents or 40 countries were evaluated, and the best vehicles were selected in six categories.
The Ioniq 9 was chosen as the Best Large SUV thanks to its design prioritizing passenger comfort, class-leading interior space, and a generous driving range of over 500 kilometers on a single charge.
Jury Chair Marta Garcia stated, "The Ioniq 9 clearly demonstrates how advanced technology and practicality can be harmoniously combined. With its fast and efficient charging performance, outstanding interior space, and high quality, it sets a new benchmark for large electric SUVs."
A Hyundai Motor Company representative commented, "The Ioniq 9 embodies Hyundai’s unwavering commitment and technological prowess in electrification. With this award as momentum, we will continue to provide differentiated mobility experiences to global customers and lead the way toward a sustainable future."
Meanwhile, the Ioniq 9 has proven its outstanding safety by earning the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating and the highest grade from Euro NCAP. It has also been recognized for its electrification technology and product competitiveness by being named the "Best 7-Seater Electric Car" at the 2025 Top Gear Electric Awards, one of WardsAuto’s "2025 10 Best Engines," the "Premium" category winner at Germany’s Car of the Year, and the "7-Seater Car of the Year" at Ireland’s Car of the Year, among other accolades.
