On January 14, KB System analyzed that KNR System has established the only full lineup of core hydraulic robot components in South Korea.

KNR System is a manufacturer of simulator-grade test equipment and hydraulic robot systems, applying hydraulic and electric precision control technologies. The company has secured stable clients, including Hyundai Motor Group and various public institutions both domestically and internationally.

Im Sang-guk, a researcher at KB Securities, introduced, "KNR System has been recognized for its technological capabilities in core hydraulic robot components, including its reference for supplying hydraulic actuators to Boston Dynamics."

He added, "KNR System recently signed a main contract with KRID for a robot platform project participating in the demonstration project for cutting and dismantling CANDU reactor radioactive structures at nuclear power plants. This is the world's first demonstration project to dismantle a CANDU reactor using a robot system."

Researcher Im predicted, "Going forward, KNR System is expected to benefit by utilizing various robot references for CANDU and light-water reactors. Hydraulic robot systems are anticipated to provide substantial benefits as they are applied to nuclear power, civil engineering and construction, steel, and shipbuilding industries."

He also stated, "Based on the high output and environmental resistance, which are the strengths of hydraulic robots compared to electric robots, the advantages of hydraulic robot systems-especially in environments difficult for humans to work in or in production process automation-will become even more prominent."

He emphasized, "As the only domestic manufacturer of hydraulic simulator-grade test equipment, KNR System is expected to continue growing, as the use of specialized test equipment for various purposes is essential from the product development stage."

Researcher Im further analyzed, "Hybrid rotary and linear actuators have valid momentum as game changers that could bring about a major transformation in the robot market. While maintaining the ease of use of electric actuators, it is possible to leverage the powerful output of hydraulic actuators."

He continued, "These can be applied to rotary movements such as robot shoulders and waist, as well as linear movements in arms and legs. They are expected to be applicable to most robot lines, including humanoid, collaborative, industrial, logistics, and military robots."
