According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, as of 5 a.m., temperatures in major regions are as follows: Seoul -8.9 degrees Celsius, Incheon -8.5 degrees, Suwon -9.7 degrees, Chuncheon -15.2 degrees, Gangneung -4.6 degrees, Cheongju -6.2 degrees, Daejeon -7.0 degrees, Jeonju -5.5 degrees, Gwangju -3.5 degrees, Jeju 2.3 degrees, Daegu -4.1 degrees, Busan -1.6 degrees, Ulsan -3.1 degrees, and Changwon -1.4 degrees. The highest daytime temperatures are forecast to range from -1 to 10 degrees Celsius.
From late afternoon, less than 0.1 centimeters of snow or less than 0.1 millimeters of raindrops may fall in northern Gyeonggi Province and the northern inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province. At night, similar light precipitation is expected in the rest of the Seoul metropolitan area, inland and mountainous regions of Gangwon, and central and northern parts of North Chungcheong Province.
From late at night, rain or snow is expected in the inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province. The expected snowfall in these regions, from late at night on January 14 through January 15, is 2 to 7 centimeters, with expected precipitation ranging from 5 to 10 millimeters.
Fine dust concentrations are expected to remain at 'good' to 'normal' levels nationwide due to smooth atmospheric dispersion.
Wave heights in the seas are forecast to be 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 1.5 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 1.0 meters in the South Sea. In the offshore areas (up to about 200 kilometers from the coastline), wave heights are expected to be 1.0 to 4.0 meters in the East Sea, 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the West Sea, and 0.5 to 2.0 meters in the South Sea.
