Sungjoo Kim, Chairman of the National Pension Service, met with representatives of domestic and foreign asset management companies that have established offices in Jeonju and emphasized his commitment to clearly demonstrate the positive effects of the relocation to Jeonju.
On the 13th, at the National Pension Service headquarters in Jeonbuk Innovation City, Chairman Kim held a meeting with representatives of asset management companies that have set up offices in Jeonju and made these remarks.
This meeting marked the first time since Chairman Kim's inauguration that he met with the heads of domestic and international asset management firms that have relocated to Jeonju. The event was attended by a large number of participants, including representatives from global asset managers such as Blackstone, Franklin Templeton, BNY Mellon, and PIMCO, as well as domestic firms such as IGIS Asset Management and Koramco Asset Management.
The participants stated that communication with the National Pension Service has become much smoother since establishing their Jeonju offices. However, they also requested improvements in local transportation and living conditions to help them settle in Jeonju, and called for the introduction of additional regional incentives when selecting delegated asset managers.
In response, Chairman Kim said, "We will clearly show that domestic and foreign asset management companies doing business with the National Pension Service will have greater opportunities by working with us," adding, "We will ensure that Jeonju firmly establishes itself as a financial city centered on asset management."
