Global Technology Leader with Experience at Tesla and Nvidia
To Serve as Head of AVP Division and President of Forty Two Dot
Hyundai Motor Group announced on January 13 that it has recruited Minwoo Park, a former vice president at Nvidia, as its new head of software (SW) development. The company aims to accelerate development by bringing in a global technology leader to strengthen its competitiveness in software-defined vehicles (SDV) and autonomous driving-based vehicle software.
The newly appointed President Minwoo Park is a global technology leader with experience in the entire process of computer vision-based autonomous driving technology, from research and development to mass production and commercialization, at global companies such as Tesla and Nvidia. At Hyundai Motor Group, he will serve as both Head of the AVP (Advanced Vehicle Platform) Division and President of Forty Two Dot, overseeing all software development.

Park most recently served as a vice president at Nvidia. He joined the organization developing autonomous driving perception technologies in its early days, established the overall development system, and led the mass production and commercialization of autonomous driving software.
In particular, by leading the organization responsible for perception and sensor fusion technologies, he successfully promoted the application of Nvidia’s autonomous driving platform to vehicles through mass production projects with global automakers. Through these efforts, he played a key role in transforming technologies from the research stage into mass-producible solutions applicable to real vehicles.
Previously, during his tenure at Tesla, Park designed and led the development of the company’s first “Tesla Vision” as part of the Autopilot project. In this process, he moved away from a structure dependent on external solutions and built an in-house camera-based deep learning system, playing a leading role in shifting autonomous driving technology from a hardware-centered to a software-centered structure.
Park stated, “Hyundai Motor Group has the optimal foundation to rapidly realize physical AI competitiveness that encompasses not only SDV and autonomous driving, but also robotics. I will contribute to making Hyundai Motor Group a standard for global innovation, as technology and people together lead the next generation of intelligent mobility.”
