Recently, a video titled "Noh Hongchul, the First Celebrity to Be Assigned VIP Security" was uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Noh Hongchul.' The video documents the moment when Noh Hongchul was appointed as an honorary security officer for the Presidential Security Service during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit last year and was deployed on site.
In the video, Noh Hongchul is seen looking around the conference venue when he encounters Chairman Chung. Chairman Chung greets him first, asking, "How have you been?" and then inquires, "Where are you sitting?" Noh Hongchul replies, "I'm with the security service today, so I'm moving around." When Chairman Chung encourages him by saying, "You're doing well," Noh Hongchul responds, "Fighting, hyung," and after exchanging a fist bump, moves on to another spot.
After watching the two converse naturally in a friendly, brother-like manner, online users commented, "Noh Hongchul's sociability is incredible," "Chairman Chung's casual tone is interesting," "Is he an AI?" "It's surprising that Chairman Chung speaks informally," "Hongchul is the ultimate insider," "There's not much of an age gap between them," and "Just seeing Noh Hongchul makes me happy," among other reactions.
The connection between Chairman Chung Euisun and Noh Hongchul was first revealed in May 2023. At that time, the two participated together in the "Godsaeng Han Meal" program, also known as the "Korean Version of Lunch with Buffett," a national communication project organized by the Federation of Korean Industries. During the event, Chairman Chung and Noh Hongchul, along with SOCAR CEO Park Jaewook, served as the first mentors to 30 Millennials & Gen Z participants. Before the event, Noh Hongchul introduced Chairman Chung on Instagram and other platforms as "the hyung I know who sells the most cars."
