This agreement marks the sixth strategic partnership under AMCHAM's ongoing "Buy America" campaign. Under this partnership, AMCHAM and Bloom Energy plan to work together to expand the deployment of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC)-based distributed power systems in next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) data centers in Korea.
Bloom Energy is a global clean energy technology company headquartered in San Jose, California. Leveraging its proprietary SOFC technology, the company provides high-efficiency, low-carbon distributed power systems that help customers achieve their decarbonization goals and ensure energy stability and operational efficiency.
The signing ceremony, held at The Forum in IFC Yeouido, was attended by key officials from both sides as well as Aaron Banks, Coordinator of the Korea Investment and Travel (KIT) Desk at the U.S. Embassy in Korea.
James Kim, Chairman and CEO of AMCHAM, stated, "We are very pleased that Bloom Energy has joined AMCHAM's 'Buy America' campaign as an official partner. Bloom Energy's clean energy solutions, optimized for industrial sites, will play an important role not only in supporting Korea's sustainable growth but also in securing energy security, which is essential for Korea to become one of the world's top three AI powerhouses."
Choi Joon, CEO of Bloom Energy Korea, said, "The core of AI competitiveness is the power infrastructure beyond the graphics processing unit (GPU), and without stable power, the growth of the AI industry is impossible. This agreement with AMCHAM is an important starting point for more effectively supplying high-quality and reliable power required for next-generation industrial infrastructure, and it is a meaningful example of the strengthening energy cooperation between Korea and the United States."
