Laying the Groundwork for Stablecoin Activation... Issuing Learning Tokens

Ha Tae-kyung, President of the Korea Insurance Training Institute, announced plans to actively promote global business, launch an artificial intelligence (AI) subsidiary, and lay the groundwork for stablecoin activation this year.

At a press conference held on the 13th, President Ha stated, "This year, we will newly establish our status as a global AI insurance training institute," adding, "Rather than maintaining the already proven and stable status quo, we will take on challenges to brighten the future of the institute and the insurance industry."

President Ha emphasized that this year will mark the beginning of the institute's global business. The first target market is Vietnam. He explained, "Market research focused on Asia showed that our institute ranks first in online content," and added, "Since there is no institutionalized insurance education business in Vietnam, we will target this market and then expand into countries like Indonesia."

The Korea Insurance Training Institute is currently discussing cooperation measures with companies such as DB Insurance and Hanwha Life, which have already entered the Vietnamese market. The plan is to localize Korea's high-quality insurance education content and foster local insurance professionals with expertise and a strong sense of ethics.

The establishment of the AI subsidiary will also be accelerated. President Ha has been proceeding with internal approval procedures, such as amending the articles of incorporation, since last year. He said, "From the moment I took office, I pledged to start and finish my term with AI," and added, "Based on our extensive experience and know-how in nurturing insurance professionals, we will accelerate the expansion of training programs and the transition to AI to secure future competitiveness."

The institute has been developing technologies such as an AI exam creation system and an AI learning management system (LMS). Currently, it is working on concrete revenue models based on these technologies. The institute is preparing letters of intent for investment in its subsidiary with several foreign companies, including Wisdom Garden, a Taiwan-based AI LMS specialist. Going forward, the institute is expected to build a platform related to online education, which currently accounts for 70% of its revenue.

There are also plans to establish the X402, an AI agent automated payment system, within the first half of the year. The institute is currently running a pilot project called the "Crypto Scholarship," a program that uses AI to generate exam questions and provides scholarships of 10-20% to students who achieve certain scores. The institute aims to develop a service that automatically awards scholarships through the AI agent once students reach specific scores.

The institute will also issue learning tokens, which function as its own points. The goal is to establish a system where students can pay for educational content using these tokens. President Ha explained, "Issuing learning tokens is essential for overseas business," and added, "If Vietnamese students pay with tokens instead of dollars, it will also be advantageous in terms of transaction fees." He also mentioned plans to link learning tokens with stablecoins if stablecoins become widely used in Korea.

President Ha stated, "We will go beyond being just an insurance education institution and spread the use of AI technology and digital assets throughout the insurance industry," and added, "We will do our utmost to prepare for a paradigm shift in insurance and nurture relevant talent by working closely with the insurance industry, academia, experts, and authorities."
