Five Courses Offered: Agricultural Technology, Processing, Eco-friendly Agriculture, Urban Agriculture, and Floriculture
The Goyang Special City Agricultural Technology Center (Mayor Lee Donghwan) in Gyeonggi Province will hold the "2026 New Year Practical Training for Farmers" at the Goyang Agricultural Technology Center for five days, from January 19 to January 23, 2026. The program aims to strengthen farmers' agricultural capabilities and increase their income in the new year.
This training has been organized to support the establishment of new year farming plans and to systematically provide the latest agricultural technologies developed through research, as well as management, marketing, and topics related to the sixth industrialization. The program is open to farmers in Goyang, and a total of 300 participants are expected to attend across five sessions.
The curriculum consists of five courses: ▲ Agricultural Technology ▲ Processing Technology ▲ Eco-friendly Agriculture ▲ Urban Agriculture ▲ Floriculture. Each course will run for three hours per day. In particular, the training has been designed to be practical and demand-driven, reflecting the needs of the agricultural field to maximize its effectiveness.
The common training topics include: ▲ Directions for the 2026 New Year Practical Training for Farmers ▲ Introduction to major agricultural policies and pilot projects ▲ Education on practicing carbon neutrality in daily life ▲ Guidelines for livestock disease prevention and farmer actions in response to high concentrations of fine dust.
Each course will feature external experts delivering lectures on high-interest topics for farmers, such as: ▲ New paradigms in agricultural marketing ▲ Cost management and distribution strategies for agri-food products ▲ Methods of using probiotics for agricultural use ▲ Operation and regulatory understanding of therapeutic agriculture facilities ▲ Understanding plants.
The instructors will include central and provincial-level experts as well as private sector professionals. The city plans to enhance the expertise and diversity of the training by facilitating exchanges of professional instructors between cities and counties.
An official from the Goyang Agricultural Technology Center stated, "This New Year Practical Training for Farmers focuses on responding to the changing agricultural environment and enhancing the competitiveness of farmers," adding, "We will do our best to ensure that the training is practical and can be immediately applied in the field."
The training will be held in the main auditorium of the Goyang Agricultural Technology Center. Farmers and prospective farmers wishing to participate can register on-site without prior application and join the training on the day of the event.
