Recently, Thai media outlet The Thaiger reported, "A Thai woman captured footage of resort employees using her personal belongings through a camera she had set up in her room."
According to the report, on January 7, the woman released the footage on her social networking service (SNS) account. She did not disclose the name or exact location of the resort. However, based on the way the employees spoke in the video, some internet users speculated that the resort might be located in Nakhon Ratchasima Province in northeastern Thailand.
The woman explained that she decided to stay at a resort instead of her family home while visiting her hometown for the New Year holiday, and that she requested daily room cleaning during her stay. She stated that she installed a camera on the table because she was curious about the condition of her room while she was out.
The recorded footage showed three resort employees using the guest's belongings. One employee was seen using perfume and eyeshadow, as well as opening skincare product containers, while another opened the perfume to smell it and examined cosmetics.
The woman clarified that the employees did not steal anything, but she said the incident left her feeling deeply unsettled. She added that she no longer felt comfortable leaving her personal belongings in the room while she was out.
She went on to say that she had planned to stay at the resort every year when visiting her hometown, but the incident made her reconsider. She stated, "This resort has received good reviews on various accommodation booking platforms," and added, "I chose it after hearing that famous Thai celebrities had stayed there, but after this experience, I am seriously reconsidering my criteria for choosing accommodation."
Meanwhile, after the footage was released, it quickly went viral, garnering 3.3 million views and more than 2,100 comments. As the video sparked controversy, some internet users asked whether she had officially notified the resort about the incident, but the woman did not respond.
