Highly Rated for Autonomous Driving and Precision Automatic Control Technologies
Daedong announced on January 13 that its autonomous transport robot and combine harvester have received New Technology Agricultural Machinery Certification from the Rural Development Administration. Having previously obtained new technology certification for its rice transplanter in 2021, Daedong has further solidified its position as a leading technology company driving the artificial intelligence (AI) transformation of the domestic agricultural sector.
The autonomous transport robot is an agricultural field robot developed to reduce the workload of farmers who must repeatedly transport harvested fruit in orchards. Its strength lies in supporting three driving modes-wired, remote control, and autonomous driving-making it easy for anyone to use. Farmers using this robot can focus solely on harvesting and loading or unloading tasks. This reduces repetitive labor, increases work efficiency, and also offers the benefit of lowering labor costs.
The Daedong autonomous combine harvester model DH-6135-A, which was certified at the same time, is equipped with three-stage autonomous operation functions. After a single harvesting pass along the perimeter of a field, it automatically sets its route and supports an autonomous unloading mode that moves to a designated location when the grain tank is full. Assuming a farmer harvests a 33,000-square-meter paddy field over 8 to 9 hours a day, the time the farmer needs to drive the combine is only about two hours, significantly reducing work fatigue.
Gam Byungwoo, Head of Development at Daedong, stated, "The agricultural sector is facing a situation where it is no longer feasible to rely solely on human labor due to aging and labor shortages, and advanced agricultural machinery will become a necessity rather than an option. This certification objectively verifies that Daedong's technology has reached a level that can be immediately applied in real agricultural settings. Based on this, we will focus even more on developing technologies and field applications that can accelerate the AI transformation of agriculture as a whole."
