On Tuesday, January 13, most regions across the country will continue to experience dry and cold weather.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, as of 5 a.m., the temperatures in major areas were as follows: Seoul -0.9°C, Incheon -1.2°C, Suwon 0.1°C, Chuncheon -6.5°C, Gangneung 3.9°C, Cheongju 3.1°C, Daejeon 3.2°C, Jeonju 3.5°C, Gwangju 4.5°C, Jeju 9.8°C, Daegu 2.5°C, Busan 7.2°C, Ulsan 7.4°C, and Changwon 6.6°C. Daytime temperatures are forecast to range from -7°C to 8°C.


During the early morning hours, snow is expected in inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon, northern Chungbuk, northeastern mountainous areas of Gyeongbuk, central and southern Chungbuk, western inland Gyeongnam, and Jeju Island. Until midday, less than 0.1 mm of rain or less than 0.1 cm of snow is expected to fall along the west coast of Chungnam and Jeolla. The expected snowfall in inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon is 1 to 5 cm, with anticipated precipitation of around 5 mm.


The air will be extremely dry, especially along the east coast of Gangwon and in the Gyeongsang region, where a dry weather advisory is in effect. Caution is advised to prevent forest fires and various other types of fires.


Wave heights are expected to be 1.0 to 3.5 meters in the East and West Seas near the shore, and 0.5 to 2.5 meters in the South Sea near the shore. In offshore waters up to about 200 km from the coastline, wave heights are forecast to be 1.5 to 5.5 meters in the East Sea, 1.0 to 3.5 meters in the West Sea, and 1.0 to 4.0 meters in the South Sea.
