After completing their schedules at 'CES 2026,' the world's largest IT and home appliance exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA, the heads of LG Electronics and its major affiliates traveled to Mexico to inspect local operations.

According to industry sources on January 12, Ryu Jaecheol, CEO of LG Electronics, visited the company's operations in Mexico last week together with key executives after attending CES. This was CEO Ryu's first visit to the Mexico site since taking office.
This visit is seen as a move to respond to global uncertainties, such as tariffs imposed by the United States. Previously, LG Electronics has been expanding its supply in both Mexico and the United States to optimize production locations in response to the reciprocal tariffs introduced by the US in August last year.
LG Electronics manufactures washing machines and dryers at its Tennessee plant in the United States, produces home appliances (refrigerators and cooking appliances) and TVs in Mexico, and manufactures refrigerators and washing machines in Vietnam. Additionally, since the second half of last year, the company has also begun producing washing machines in Mexico.
CEO Ryu is also reported to have toured the automotive electronics plant. The automotive electronics (VS Business Division) segment accounts for 40% of LG Magna's revenue from the Mexico plant. This facility has been in operation since September 2023.
Moon Hyuksu, President and CEO of LG Innotek, who attended CES for the third consecutive year, also visited the company's local operations in Mexico after completing his schedule. President Moon is said to have stayed in Mexico from the 8th to the 10th (local time), inspecting the new mobility parts plant that began operation at the end of last year.
LG Innotek has been producing motors, sensors, and automotive camera modules at its existing Mexico plant and has expanded its facilities to meet the growing demand for mobility components such as camera modules and lighting solutions. With the new plant in Mexico now fully operational, LG Innotek expects to expand production of high-value-added mobility parts and strengthen its business by providing close support to global automakers in North America and beyond.
