This summer, a large-scale K-POP concert will be held in Jangheung, South Jeolla Province.

This contest was established to enhance the diversity and brand value of Hallyu content through large-scale Hallyu events, such as K-POP concerts, organized by local governments, and to strengthen the foundation for attracting foreign tourists. This year, five local governments were selected: Yeosu, Jangheung, Chungju, Boryeong, and Haman.

Jangheung County plans to host a K-POP concert and the 'K-Drama in Prison (Papillon zip)' program in conjunction with its signature Jeongnamjin Jangheung Water Festival, which will take place from July 25 to August 2. The county received high marks for presenting a comprehensive festival model that combines Hallyu content with local tourism resources, based on its experience of successfully holding the water festival more than 18 times.

Lee Siyoung, Director of Tourism at Jangheung County, said, "The competitiveness of the Jeongnamjin Jangheung Water Festival and the Papillon zip content has been recognized for its potential as Hallyu tourism resources," adding, "We will develop Jangheung into a global tourism hub by linking it with major Hallyu comprehensive events."
