Han Byungdo Emphasizes Unified Team in Meeting with Woo Sangho: "Will Enhance Communication Going Forward"

Woo Sangho: "Han Byungdo Has Done It All... Exceptionally Capable"

Han Byungdo, the newly appointed floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, met with Woo Sangho, Senior Secretary for Political Affairs at the Presidential Office, and emphasized the importance of strengthening communication and working as a unified team among the ruling party, the government, and the Presidential Office.

At the National Assembly in Yeouido on January 12, Han stated during his meeting with Woo, "To continue our early achievements, the party, the government, and the Presidential Office will work together more strongly than ever as one team and one voice," adding, "We always talk about communication, but I will continue to further enhance communication going forward."

Han remarked, "Seeing Senior Secretary Woo bring an orchid today reminds me of the past. When I was Senior Secretary for Political Affairs, you were the floor leader, and I remember delivering orchids to you on such occasions." On this day, Woo presented Han with a pot of orchids as a congratulatory gesture.

He continued, "Senior Secretary Woo is someone who personally taught and supported me in many ways after I graduated from university and was considering a career in politics. Even back then, he always emphasized the importance of communication with younger colleagues in politics."

Han stressed, "I will utilize the communication skills I have developed together with Senior Secretary Woo in the Lee Jaemyung administration."

Woo congratulated Han, saying, "(Han Byungdo) is a highly capable person who has held every key position and has experience in every area leading up to becoming floor leader. I am delighted that he has become the floor leader."

He went on to say, "When (Han Byungdo) recently served as the chair of the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, he demonstrated excellent communication skills and ensured the government’s desired budget proposal was fully realized. He is a remarkable political leader who, through dialogue with the People Power Party, ensured the budget bill was passed within the statutory deadline."

Woo concluded, "This year, we aim to pursue a new national agenda under the theme of great transformation and great leap forward. I hope we can share the philosophy of governance and work together to ensure these goals are successfully achieved."
