Geumsan County will host the "2026 Geumsan County Policy Idea Contest" to discover innovative policy ideas for overall county administration and to design the region's future together with residents.

This contest covers a wide range of topics, including responses to low birth rates and regional extinction, solutions to livelihood issues faced by young people and small business owners, addressing administrative and welfare blind spots, establishing social infrastructure, and policies for the development of Geumsan County.

The submission period runs from January 12 to February 13. Any resident registered in Geumsan County, as well as workers, students, and public officials living or working in the region, may participate.

Proposals can be submitted online through the National Idea Platform, or via the submission box that will be installed in the lobby on the first floor of the county office on January 19.

Submitted proposals will be evaluated based on criteria such as feasibility, creativity, effectiveness and efficiency, scope of application, and sustainability. Selection will be made through a combination of document review, online voting, and assessment by the proposal review committee.

The results are scheduled to be announced in March via the Geumsan County website and through individual notifications.

The best proposals will receive awards according to their ranking: Grand Prize (2 million KRW), Gold Prize (1 million KRW), Silver Prize (500,000 KRW), Bronze Prize (300,000 KRW), and Encouragement Prize (100,000 KRW), along with certificates. However, if there are no suitable candidates for a particular award level based on the review results, that award may not be granted.
