Yangpyeong's "Lights of Love" Welcomes 2026
Achieving Both Community Unity and Local Economic Vitality

Yangpyeong County in Gyeonggi Province (Governor Jeon Jinseon) announced on January 12 that it had successfully concluded the 3rd annual "Winter in Yangpyeong: Lights of Love-Connecting 2025 and 2026 with Love!" event, which was held on the last day of 2025 at the Namhangang Terrace in front of Yangpyeong County Office, drawing enthusiastic participation from both residents and tourists.

This event, held under the slogan "Enjoy a Happy Winter in Charming Yangpyeong," is a special program of "Winter in Yangpyeong," which runs for two months from December 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026. It features a schedule of activities throughout the day, including hands-on experiences, performances, and fireworks, allowing visitors to enjoy the festivities from morning until night.

A variety of experiential programs, in collaboration with businesses participating in "Winter in Yangpyeong," attracted families and children. Special performances by Yangpyeong County's honorary ambassador, trot singer Jin Hyejin, as well as Kim Sunhyeong of Emerald Castle and Jadu, were also held. The fireworks display, set against the backdrop of the Namhangang River and lighting up the winter night sky, heightened the year-end atmosphere and provided the audience with a moving and unforgettable experience.

During the event, the number of visitors to Yangpyeong Market, nearby restaurants, cafes, and small shops increased, naturally leading to higher spending. In particular, after the fireworks, crowds flocked to Yangpyeong Market and surrounding commercial areas, keeping the streets lively late into the night.

A restaurant owner at Yangpyeong Market said, "Every year at the end of the year, many people usually go to Seoul, so there were few customers, but this year, there were definitely more customers than usual. I hope events like this continue every year so that Yangpyeong city center becomes even more vibrant."

Governor Jeon Jinseon of Yangpyeong County stated, "The 'Winter in Yangpyeong: Lights of Love' special event was more than just a year-end celebration-it promoted community unity, boosted tourism, and provided tangible benefits to the local economy. We will continue to develop festivals in collaboration with Yangpyeong Market and other local businesses to create a virtuous cycle for the regional economy."

Meanwhile, "Winter in Yangpyeong" is a stamp tour-style festival featuring various programs such as rural experiences and strawberry picking, which can be enjoyed during the winter season.
