Damyang County in Jeollanam-do has completed the imposition of the 2026 regular license registration tax and is calling on residents to cooperate by making timely payments.

On January 12, Damyang County announced that it has imposed a total of 134.09 million won for 11,070 cases of the regular license registration tax (license category) for this year.

The license registration tax is a local tax imposed annually as of January 1 on individuals or corporations holding various licenses, permits, approvals, notifications, or registrations. It is classified into five categories, from Type 1 to Type 5, depending on the type and scale of the license, with tax rates ranging from a minimum of 4,500 won to a maximum of 27,000 won.

The payment period for this regular license registration tax is 18 days, from January 16 to February 2. Payments can be made at the counters of all financial institutions nationwide or through cash deposit/withdrawal machines (CD/ATM). For those unable to visit in person, payment can be conveniently made online using the virtual account, local tax account, credit card, or Wetax as indicated on the tax notice.

A county official emphasized, "Even if you already paid the occasional license registration tax after obtaining a license in December of last year, you must separately pay the regular license registration tax imposed as of January 1 this year. Please ensure payment within the deadline, as a penalty of 3% of the tax amount will be added if payment is overdue."
