On January 10, the Welfare Family Volunteer Association delivered three types of side dishes, including seaweed soup, to 19 households of elderly people living alone and individuals with severe disabilities who have difficulty moving. They also checked whether heating devices were functioning properly and urged everyone to stay warm during the winter.
The Guam 2-dong Welfare Family Volunteer Association regularly delivers homemade side dishes directly to low-income households and households with disabled members who have mobility issues. Through these regular visits, the association checks on the well-being of neighbors in need, takes the lead in preventing solitary deaths, and works to strengthen the community safety net.
Lee Woopil, president of the Guam 2-dong Welfare Family Volunteer Association, said, "With the recent spell of very cold weather, I hope that this small gesture can be of some help to our neighbors in need. We will continue to identify those in need and carry out various volunteer activities for the community together with our members in the future."
