K Bank announced on January 12 that its "Curious Installment Savings" product has surpassed 1 million cumulative accounts opened, just over a year after its launch.
"Curious Installment Savings" is a one-month maturity savings product where a random interest rate is applied each day you make a deposit, and the accumulated interest rate is applied at maturity. The starting base interest rate is 0.7% per annum, but if you deposit every day for 31 days without missing a single day, you can receive up to 6.7% per annum.
The average number of accounts opened per season exceeded 200,000, and as a result, the product surpassed 1 million accounts just over a year after its launch. Since its introduction, "Curious Installment Savings" has gone through five seasons, with an average re-enrollment rate of 80% per season.
Initially, the product's cute character design attracted mainly customers in their 20s and 30s, but as it became recognized as a "habit-forming product," the age range of subscribers diversified. Currently, 60% of cumulative subscribers are in their 40s and 50s.
Collaborations with new characters each season have also contributed to its popularity. Currently, the fifth season is underway in collaboration with illustrator Sookidoki. Each day you make a deposit, you can see illustrations of "Jwisooni and Friends." From this season, a feature to save images has been added, allowing users to collect illustrations and upload or share them on social networking services (SNS).
A K Bank official stated, "We will continue to provide customers with new financial experiences through a variety of products and services."
