LS Electric is entering the European market by supplying ultra-high voltage transformers to the German energy company RWE.
According to industry sources on January 11, LS Electric recently signed a contract with RWE to supply ultra-high voltage transformers worth 62 billion KRW and is currently conducting final quality tests.
The main point is to supply 400-kilovolt (kV) products to solar power and energy storage system (ESS) integrated power plants that RWE is building in western Germany by 2027.
The European market is the third largest for electric power equipment in the world, following the United States and China. As global artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure expands, countries across Europe are building large-scale solar and wind farms, as well as extensive transmission and substation infrastructure.
