Integrated Busan Pavilion Brings Good News in Investment and Export Contracts
Participating Companies Stand Out in AI, Semiconductors, and Smart Ports
443 Consultations Held, $28.67 Million in Contracts Pursued
Busan City achieved remarkable results in attracting investments and export contracts in Las Vegas, United States, reaping significant benefits.
On January 11, Busan City announced that it had achieved tangible outcomes in connecting local companies to global markets and investments by participating in 'CES 2026,' the world's largest electronics exhibition.
At 'CES 2026,' held in Las Vegas from January 6 to 9, Busan City operated the Integrated Busan Pavilion and recorded a total of 443 export consultations and contracts in progress worth 28.67 million dollars. These are amounts expected to be finalized within a year. The city also held 65 one-on-one business meetings with global investors and overseas buyers.
During the event, Busan Mayor Park Hyungjun visited the Hyundai Motor Group exhibition hall to review service robots and artificial intelligence (AI)-based future mobility technologies, and examined the potential for collaboration and demonstration projects with Busan’s growing robotics industry. Busan plans to leverage its diverse demonstration environments, such as ports, logistics, and urban infrastructure, to promote the demonstration and commercialization of robotics and AI convergence technologies in partnership with global companies.
At this CES, Busan-based companies showcased technologies in AI, semiconductors, and smart ports-key advanced strategic industries that the city is focusing on. Their presentations attracted significant interest from overseas buyers. The activities went beyond product exhibitions to include investment attraction, proof of concept (PoC), joint development, and export consultations, which enhanced the professionalism of the meetings and increased the likelihood of contracts.
By company, O2Lab is currently negotiating investments worth about 1 billion KRW with two global investment firms, while Korea LFP signed an investment agreement worth 3 million dollars with global investor CoInvest. TigerAI entered into a PoC and joint development agreement with US-based FitInMotion to expand into the Americas, and CIT is discussing investment and business expansion with a global accelerator.
DoubleO showcased a high-performance SSD forensic solution utilizing memory semiconductor data analysis and recovery technology, leading to export consultations. The AI-based real-time image capture robot 'Zency Studio,' installed at Busan Station with support from Busan City and the Korea Institute for Robot Convergence, received the CES Best Innovation Award and attracted attention from the global content industry at the event. There were discussions about participating in the official Grammy Awards photo line, and a PoC agreement was reached with a Japanese AI model company.
Achievements were also made in the shipbuilding and marine sectors. Mapsea, which established a partnership with global shipping company CMA CGM at 'CES 2025' last year, entered the commercialization verification stage at this CES by discussing the introduction of navigation systems for approximately 600 ships owned by CMA CGM. This cooperation is considered significant for enhancing vessel operation efficiency and safety management in response to climate and marine environmental changes, such as developing Arctic routes.
Mayor Park Hyungjun emphasized, "This CES served as an opportunity to firmly establish the technological capabilities and growth potential of Busan companies in the global market," adding, "We will strengthen follow-up support so that cooperation with overseas buyers and investors can lead to actual investments, exports, and commercialization."
