Supporting All Administrative Tasks, Including Document Drafting and Civil Complaint Responses
On January 11, Songpa District in Seoul (headed by District Mayor Seo Kangseok) announced that it has introduced an artificial intelligence (AI) assistant to enhance the professionalism and efficiency of administrative work. The district has connected generative AI tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini to its internal administrative network, establishing an AI-powered work environment tailored to administrative needs. As a result, every employee now has access to an AI assistant.

The generative AI assistant supports a wide range of administrative tasks, including document summarization, drafting reports and press releases, assisting with responses to civil complaints, translation and text correction, and data analysis. Personal and sensitive information is filtered, and the system operates exclusively on the internal network to strengthen security. In particular, by automating repetitive and standardized administrative work, the district has been able to respond to civil complaints more quickly and improve the quality of administrative services.
After piloting the generative AI solution for two months starting in October last year and conducting security reviews, the district began full-scale operations in January this year. Employees who have used the AI assistant reported, "AI provides fast and accurate answers to any questions about welfare, culture, or daily life, which has significantly reduced the time needed to respond to civil complaints," and "Not only can it search for information, but it can also handle specialized tasks such as contract review, which has sped up our work processes."
Going forward, the district plans to improve the service by adding specialized features tailored to the characteristics of each department's work, reflecting employee feedback.
Seo Kangseok, Mayor of Songpa District, stated, "The introduction of the generative AI assistant will help reduce the burden of repetitive tasks for employees and, through greater administrative efficiency, ultimately improve the quality of life for our residents. We will continue to gradually apply AI technology to administration and realize 'service-oriented administration' by providing even better administrative services."
