On January 8, Andong City held a '2032 113th National Sports Festival Bid Declaration Ceremony' at Nakdong Hall in the Andong Citizens’ Center, where it shared its bid strategies with residents and showcased its capabilities to host the event both domestically and internationally.

This declaration ceremony was significant not only as an expression of intent, but also as the starting point for a citywide project encompassing the expansion of sports infrastructure and the advancement of the city’s brand.

The event began with a report on the bid preparations, followed by the reading of a resolution to support the bid, congratulatory remarks, a declaration speech, and a performance wishing for a successful bid. Notably, at the end of the event, all participants unfolded towels emblazoned with the phrase '2032 National Sports Festival Bid,' symbolically demonstrating a citizen-participatory bid strategy.

The mayor of Andong stated, "Hosting the National Sports Festival will be a turning point that elevates Andong’s status as a city. Based on the expertise we have accumulated in organizing events and our sports infrastructure, we will work together with our citizens to achieve a successful bid."

Going forward, Andong City plans to establish a systematic bid roadmap and conduct strategic promotions, while also expanding citizen participation programs to broaden public support. The city aims to secure an advantage in the competition to host the National Sports Festival by promoting a differentiated strategy as a 'K-Heritage Sports City' that combines traditional cultural assets with modern sports.
